Chunky bluebell shoots
I’m looking forward to seeing the bluebells in bloom. Spring is definitely around the corner. These are Spanish bluebells that were here in the garden when we arrived. The Spanish bluebell is common in garden centres and is a robust, chunky bluebell popular as a garden plant in the UK. However, they are causing an ecological issue in areas where British Native Bluebells thrive in the wild. For more information about the implications of the Spanish bluebell on the future

A 'Duvet' of Fallen Leaves
These have actually been giving the bulbs below a nice bit of protection from the night frosts and now the bluebells are finally beginning to show through… #gardenrestorationblog #newgrowth

The cyclamen plant is thriving
The miniature cyclamen is providing good ground coverage and a wonderful display of little pink ‘upside down’ flowers. The variegated leaves look great too… #gardenrestorationblog #newgrowth

Looong lawn
In fact, the recent heavy rains have made the whole lawn grow dramatically over the past four weeks. #gardenrestorationblog #newgrowth

Rapid Lawn Growth
That patch of lawn has grown SO quickly - a month ago that area was just a bare patch of earth… #gardenrestorationblog #newgrowth

Cyclamen
These flowers are a sure sign that Autumn has arrived. These are miniature cyclamen and I planted a small root clump when I took on this garden back in the Spring. They seem to be doing very well and gradually spreading , providing ground cover. I like the way they unfurl from the ground, just like ferns. #gardenrestorationblog #newgrowth

New lawn
The new grass is actually sprouting very quickly at the back of the garden around the paving slab. #gardenrestorationblog #newgrowth

A closer look at the bald patch
The grass seeds are indeed shooting - but seeing will be believing in this contaminated area. #gardenrestorationblog #newgrowth

New wildflower seedlings
The second wave of wildflowers is coming on in leaps and bounds now. If we have a mild Autumn, then it looks like the flowers will last well into October. #gardenrestorationblog #newgrowth

The Cat Guardians of the Seelings
I’ve moved the seedlings into the shade. It’s HOT! The cats are ‘guarding’ them as only they can! #gardenrestorationblog #newgrowth #cat
