Speckled Bush Cricket
This speckled bush cricket isn’t looking as zesty and fresh as those at the start of the Summer. This is an older individual with darker legs and a darker, raised lump on its back. #gardenrestorationblog

A treat for the birds
The Cotoneaster in the garden is beginning to spread and the red berries will be a welcome treat for garden birds as winter draws in. But many types of Cotoneaster available in Garden Centres are actually invasive and are now prohibited from being planted in the British Countyside. To help the birds feed on berries in winter, better alternatives include holly, hawthorn and honeysuckle. #birds #gardenrestorationblog

Wild border
Here is a wider view of the Cotoneaster in the border. The whole area is looking a lot more ‘wild’ as I have left the nettles to grow. I’m surprised the Cosmos is still flowering this late in the year. #gardenrestorationblog

Cotoneaster
Whilst at the garden centre, I saw this plant and realised that it is the same as the one in the garden border. It has just come out in red berries ready for Winter. #gardenrestorationblog

Sunflare Spiderweb
I paid a visit to a lovely garden centre today and this glistening, silver spider web caught my eye… #gardenrestorationblog

The cyclamen plant is thriving
The miniature cyclamen is providing good ground coverage and a wonderful display of little pink ‘upside down’ flowers. The variegated leaves look great too… #gardenrestorationblog #newgrowth

Hebe and Heather
The ‘Green wall’ plants are in the garden and awaiting a large pot of ericaceous compost. Heathers need an acidic soil, and ericaceous compost is lime-free and therefore more acidic than other composts. #gardenrestorationblog #cat

Meanwhile... the Leopard Stares
I'm not sure he got out of the right side of bed this morning?! #gardenrestorationblog #cat

Another 'Selfie'
I can’t get the hang of ‘selfies’… It’s a lovely warm but very windy morning in the garden today. #gardenrestorationblog #cat

Windy Cat Selfie!
A ‘windy cat selfie’ – the weather… not a windy cat! #gardenrestorationblog #cat
