Acting Roles - Film & TV

You may well have seen Sarah Rees on the TV without realising it as she has frequently popped up, in costume, on comedies and has had small parts on British TV drama over the years – much to the amusement of her friends.

She considers herself very lucky to have landed roles in both television and feature films.

Sarah is a full member of Equity and she has taken on roles ranging from an 18th century aristocrat to a gun-wielding police spook. She was even been beaten-up on the gritty British TV soap, Eastenders.

Sarah had a small role as a Press Officer in The Queen, directed by Stephen Frears; and was also a stand-in for Elizabeth Banks on Fred Claus, directed by David Dobkin.

She was a double for Michelle Pfeiffer in the film Stardust, directed by Matthew Vaughan, which involved wearing prosthetics as a hag for several weeks! One of the many highlights on this fantasy set included pretending to murder actor, Jason Flemyng...

Sarah was a double for the actress Christine Tremarco in the award-winning BBC/HBO mini-series Five Days, in which she had an additional featured role opposite actor David Oyelowo.

She has also had dialogue parts on popular British TV series including Holby City, Law and Order UK, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Hotel Babylon, Waking The Dead and Miss Marple.

A more unusual role was that of a bereaved mother in a historical reconstruction drama for the Discovery Channel's Shark Week, filmed in the (warm!) water tanks at Pinewood Studios...

Behind the scenes, Sarah has LAMDA awards in Speech and Drama, RSCM awards for choral music and has taken lead roles in fringe musical theatre. She is also Grade 8 piano and has spent many weekends teaching music and singing to young people at theatre school.

She has enjoyed her time on film sets immensely.
