welcome

Sarah is a television presenter with a background in television production.  She has a Master's Degree in Environmental Science and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.

She is experienced with Talk-Back and Live Studio shows, voice-over, audio book narration and she speaks French.  Her major love is the Natural World and when she can, she indulges in her passion for wildlife photography and travel.

Sarah is a member of the Woodland Trust and has been taking practical courses via the Field Studies Council in Epping Forest, including the importance of Veteran Trees and their role as biodiversity ‘hubs’ within the forest.   She also received a distinction from a mammal identification course run by the Mammal Society.  This included small mammal trapping, handling and releasing; and also taking apart owl pellets to identify mammal remains under a microscope (where she discovered shrews have red tips to their teeth!)

Most recently she has been working with the charity Garden Organic at Live Events around the country, promoting organic gardening and chatting with the public about environmentally friendly pest control and gardening for wildlife.  She has also been promoting the Heritage Seed Library and has been involved in publicising Garden Organic’s ‘One Pot Pledge’ Campaign – getting kids planting rocket and chard so they can enjoy eating something they have grown themselves.

In the past, Sarah has volunteered with BTCV in Wales and with Wildlife Aid in Surrey.  At Wildlife Aid her duties included ‘checking in’ the patients from members of the public, cleaning and feeding bird enclosures, weighing hedgehogs, handling and feeding the owls, and cleaning the fox and badger cub pens.  The toughest challenge was ignoring their pleas for attention, including their efforts to climb her legs whilst sweeping!

She is fascinated by language and is also learning Welsh and Spanish in her spare time.
